The Place to Chill: Gardens Bar and Grill

Gardens Bar and Grill has never been easier to enjoy with the adjacent I-35 construction project finally completed. Now is the time to stop by and enjoy the amazing food, drinks, and team while spending time with friends, neighbors, and co-workers.

Owners Cheryl and Sandy McKay make sure of that by focusing on quality in every phase of their business. Cheryl is fully involved with Gardens and has continued to build the Gardens team to provide the best customer experience possible.

“I’m much more visible,” she said. “I’m in Gardens daily working as part of the team and making sure our customers enjoy their food, drinks, service, and chill atmosphere.

Located in a strip mall at 2421 Westport Parkway, Suite 1400, just south of Fort Worth Alliance Airport off the west side of 35W frontage road, Gardens Bar and Grill features everything anyone would want from a favorite eating, drinking, and entertainment establishment. That’s quite evident from the investment focused on new and improved amenities.

For example, Gardens completed a remodel and painting of the bar area including installing granite countertops and replacing cooling equipment and refrigeration for the facility originally opened in 2018. Yes, it was a long hot summer, and now they’re ready for the fall and winter.

“Our food continues to get rave reviews where the overwhelming sentiment is, ‘this is great, this is just not bar food,’” Cheryl said. “We have a great kitchen staff headed by Anthony Vargas who came to Gardens from Rainforest Café.

“We changed our menu in the last couple of weeks. We’ve added different menu items including brisket and pulled pork. We also went live with our late-night menu. We’re really the only place in the area open until 2am, so a lot of the workers will come in around midnight for a drink and something quick to eat. We added individual items like pizza, mozzarella sticks, and sliders. We also have $2.99 drink specials for your enjoyment after 10pm.”

Gardens continues to offer daily lunch and drink specials and other menu options including burgers and a variety of sandwiches, salads, pizza, chicken wings, and shrimp.

Patrons wanting Gardens Bar and Grill to come to their weddings, parties, and other events can take advantage of the new mobile events bar cart and expanded catering service.

“Our chef and team are educated in multiple cuisines and can meet any and all of your catering expectations,” Cheryl said. “This includes a full carryout Thanksgiving dinner serving 12-14 for $275. Plus, we can entertain large groups of more than 50 people.”

A new entertainment provider called Trend Events conducts open mic on Tuesdays, karaoke Thursdays and rotating DJs on Fridays and Saturdays. Sports fans can watch their favorite teams on the 19 big-screen televisions. There are two pool tables, a Golden Tee machine, multiple video games, and a music stage. And there’s a patio where dogs are welcome.

There’s even a revamped website and extensive social media presence including many great Google reviews. The relaunched website – gardensbarandgrilldfw.com – makes it easy to navigate and schedule catering and the events bar cart or call ahead for your food and beverage to go. You can also follow Gardens on Facebook or Instagram to keep up on specials and events.

“People are saying they see the Google reviews and want to come in and try it,” Cheryl said.

For the second straight year, Gardens Bar and Grill is hosting the Christmas Paws for a Cause fundraiser with the Justin-based Apollo Support and Rescue on Dec. 3. Another event coming to Gardens is the Metroport Chamber New Member Welcomer on Nov. 28. These are in addition to sponsoring Justin Northwest High School with t-shirts.

“We really want to be part of the community and help out as much as possible,” Cheryl said.

The McKays want their establishment to be known as a place to enjoy amazing food, service, drinks, and chill.

“We want to be known as the chill bar,” Cheryl said. “You don’t have to get dressed up to come in here. We have great food. It’s not bar food. It is really good food with great cuts. You can come as you are and meet a bunch of people and hang out. You don’t have to dress up.”

Come in and give Gardens a try, we want to earn your business!
