Turning the Tassel Brings Bright Beginnings
One of my favorite moments each year is the turning of the tassel at graduation. In a simple motion, students shift their tassels from right to left, marking the end of one journey and the exciting start of another. It is a small gesture that carries a lifetime of meaning, representing preparation, growth, and the courage to step into the future.
In Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD, we are filled with pride as we watch our seniors prepare to cross the stage. Whether they are headed to college, careers, the military, or other opportunities, they leave us ready for success. Their accomplishments reflect years of dedication, not only their own, but also that of their families, teachers, and the EMS ISD community.
As we celebrate these milestones, it is important to finish the year strong. Everyday matters. Even in these final couple of weeks being present is essential. We simply cannot teach children when they are not in the classroom. Strong attendance supports both immediate success and long-term achievement.
We are also preparing for a strong start to next year. Registration and returning student verification are now open, and I encourage every family to complete these steps now. Early registration helps us better plan for staffing and resources, ensuring that every student starts the new year with the tools they need to succeed.
These last couple of weeks will be filled with celebrations, and it’s important to remember this season of celebration is a reflection of the tireless efforts of our teachers, staff, and families who have worked together to make this year a success. From the earliest days of the school year to now, the unwavering support of our EMS ISD community has made a lasting difference in the lives of our students. Together, we continue to build a culture of excellence that prepares every student to thrive in school and beyond.
Thank you, EMS ISD families, for your partnership. Thank you for encouraging strong attendance, completing your registration or verification early, and celebrating these important milestones with us. The turning of the tassel is not just a closing chapter, it is the beginning of a bright future. Our students are ready to soar, and our community stands strong behind them.
