This is my Favorite Time of Year!
There is nothing quite like the beginning of a new school year. In fact, it is my favorite time of year. The excitement on our campuses is contagious as students reconnect with friends, teachers welcome new classes, marching bands begin rehearsing, athletic teams return to competition, and classrooms once again become places of discovery and growth. It is a fresh start filled with endless possibilities, and I am grateful to see our schools come alive once again.
Thank you to the thousands of families who have chosen Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD for their child’s education. We know you have a choice, and we are honored by the trust you place in us each day. Our commitment is to provide every student with the opportunities, support, and high-quality education they need to succeed. From academics and fine arts to athletics, career and technical education, leadership, and extracurricular activities, we believe EMS ISD truly is a great choice for every student.
This year, our district remains focused on our top priority: every student grows at least one year, every year. We are excited to continue building on the progress we’ve already seen with our high-quality instructional resources. This is the second year of implementation for elementary English language arts and reading and mathematics, as well as middle school mathematics.
As we work toward that goal, there is one thing every family can do to make a tremendous difference, and that is to prioritize school attendance. Every day matters.
Attendance is also important for another reason. In Texas, school funding is based on attendance, and in EMS ISD, just a 1% increase in student attendance generates approximately $2.5 million in additional funding from the state for your child’s education. While those resources are certainly important, our greatest motivation is much simpler. We want every child to benefit from every
opportunity to learn.
Thank you for partnering with us as we begin another exciting school year. Together, we will continue creating opportunities for every student to learn, grow, and thrive.
